Finneas Vilmar is the third scenario of the Rise of the Necromancer campaign in Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Shadow of Death.
Walkthrough[]
Defeat all of Sandro and Finneas' enemies to win the scenario. However, if Sandro or Finneas is defeated in combat, the scenario is lost. Sandro and Finneas are limited to level 20 but will carry their experience, skills and spells on to the next scenario.OffBck
Sandro has managed to ally with Finneas Vilmar, a lich, who craves for power. Sandro intends on placing Finneas as the lord of Deyja, while he will give orders to Finneas. However, they learn Lord Alarice is in the region and has warned the AvLee forces to attack them, since Alarice wants them dead and the artifacts for himself. The AvLee forces are reported to be in the underground tunnels, waiting to launch surprise attacks. Sandro and Finneas will have to defeat all their enemies to continue on. If taking the northern route, Sandro will have to fight 55 skeleton warriors before going on. The northern area has one Dungeon and a Rampart beyond the northeastern monolith, which connects to an underground cave. Also, there is a seer trading 5000 gold for 75 wood. Taking the eastern path, however, Sandro learns the dwarven clans have allied themselves to attack Sandro for killing their brothers before.
The eastern area is more cluttered, due to many portals, subterranean gates and chances for surprise attacks. Close to the garrison is a seer asking 16 halberdier for 4 power liches. To the east lies Alarice and his Necropolis; under it lies the second Rampart town, which can be accessed from three directions. The third, final Rampart town lies northeast of the Necropolis castle. Before approaching the town, he is greeted by dwarves, who plan on killing Sandro and defeating Alarice, who is also a necromancer. Since they are unaware, Sandro reveals he is the one looking for them and has his army attack 101 centaur captains, 52 battle dwarves, 41 grand elves, 32 silver pegasi, 24 dendroid soldiers, 19 war unicorns and 8 green dragons. There is also a final Dungeon town in the north - after all towns are captured, Sandro and Finneas move to the final scenario.

Strategy[]
Finneas and Sandro have to split up and conquest the region. Sandro is a bit stronger and should take the eastern area, where there are more enemies to be found. However, it is very likely the enemy will swarm the area, so Finneas, after conquering the northern area, can come back and assist Sandro in fighting off the rest of the enemies. Both heroes are limited to level 20 and will carry over to final scenario.
