Asael Fromago is a connoussieur of cheese-making, who lives in Alvar, next door to Cauri Blackthorne. He tells the party that he's managed to sample all except three kinds of very rare cheese, eldenbrie, dunduck, and frelandeau, and asks them to find these cheeses and return to him with them.
Please note that, despite the quest log recording each cheese separately, Fromago will not accept them individually. The party must collect all three cheeses before he will acknowledge any part of the quest as fulfilled.
Walkthrough[]
A cheese of each kind may be found at one of the three Temples of Eep in Jadame (in other words, eldenbrie at one temple, dunduck in another, and frelandeau at the third). All these temples are fully inhabited by Ratman, Lycanthrope, and Bestial animalist types who do not want you to take them.
The Chapel of Eep in Ravenshore is fairly straightforward. A log of eldenbrie cheese is in a trapped chest behinid a secret door in the center area. Careful study of the map should show you where the secret door is located, if you lack sufficient Perception.
In the Church of Eep in Ravage Roaming, you must hit a button on the far wall of the room that has most of the floor covered with a switch to keep the doors closed. The button will move a box to a position where you can jump on top of it to avoid the floor switch area. A ball of dunduck cheese is located in a trapped treasure chest behind the altar in the sanctuary.
The Grand Temple of Eep in Garrote Gorge has a mechanism for opening a secret door that is difficult to find; on your corner map you will see a passage going back behind the podium. The button to open it is in a bedroom that you can reach through the side (visible) door in front of the congregation area. In a single bedroom (not a bunk area), look for a desk. On the side of the desk is a secret switch. Touch it to open the secret door to the passage. A wheel of frelandeau cheese is in a trapped treasure chest at the end of the left passage.
