"At last, the war draws to an end. My brother refuses to surrender in the face of your army, and instead sends his undead armies to continue their war against his own people. I must redirect the forces you so cleverly led to victory against general Corlagon to the defense of the people. I have decided to put Lord Haart in charge of the defense and you in charge of the attack against my brother's weakened armies. You have free access to the holdings you recently confiscated from Archibald's vassals. Use them wisely and capture my brother! Let us bring this civil war to an end!"
Final Justice is the tenth and last scenario of Roland's campaign in Heroes of Might and Magic II: The Succession Wars.
This is the final battle. Both you and your enemy are armed to the teeth, and all are allied against you. Capture Archibald to end the war!OffBck
Roland starts the attack against Archibald, gathering his forces and sending his commander against his brother. After a long and bloody struggle, Archibald is captured, and is turned to stone for his crimes.
Walkthrough[]
The commander has three castles to the south: one wizard, one sorceress, and one knight, and one matching hero outside every castle. In addition, Roland himself is on the battlefield, equipped with either the Ultimate Crown, or carry-over forces from the Gauntlet scenario, depending on the player's choice.
There are three foes to the north: green barbarians to the east, purple necromancers to the west, and yellow warlocks in the center. All three have one castle and two towns. Purple has four heroes, while the other two have three each.
Archibald's red warlock castle is located far to the north, and can only be reached by ship. The heroes could defeat all the enemy forces, though defeating Archibald is the primary objective.
If Roland doesn't have a large army, training one and sending it north will be the commander's most important task.
"Brother Archibald, for your crimes against the kingdom and myself, I give you a mercy you surely would not have shown me: I sentence you to be turned to stone and locked in the west tower until future generations should take pity upon you and restore you to life. If they ever do. In any case, you may rest assured you will never lay eyes upon the crown again."
Strategy[]
If Roland starts with a large army, it's wise to send him to the nearby ship so he can visit Magellan's Maps, which reveals all water on the map. Training a sorceress from the nearby castle, giving them Roland's forces and using Summon Boat to send them north is the quickest way to end the scenario. Once they reach Archibald's castle, winning the fight will win the scenario. It is not possible to attack Archibald the first week. This gives the player the opportunity to grab some treasures and skills improvement for the sorceress. The latest the players needs to board a ship is the first day of the second week.
Trivia[]
- In the woods north of Archibald's castle, there's a warlock named Mr. Ed, with an army of centaurs. This is likely a reference to the talking horse from the TV series Mister Ed.
