- For other uses of the term, see fighter.
"Should you choose the path of Might, you will begin life as a Fighter. Fighters are on the front lines of combat. They employ a variety of weapons to eradicate a foe. As Fighters grow in experience, they will come to their first crossroads, whether to fight for themselves, as Mercenaries, or fight for the good of all as a Crusader."
The Fighter is one of the two starting classes in Might and Magic IX, the other being the Initiate. Fighters can learn to use all forms of weapons, but start with no magic.

Promotion[]
If they complete the quest from Keith Bloodaxe, Fighters can be promoted to Crusaders, who can cast a few spells to supplement their fighting abilities.
If they instead complete the quest from Thorfinn Skullsplitter, they can be promoted to Mercenaries, who are unable to cast spells, but better in melee combat than the Crusader.
