Clan War

"In the Festival of Life, those who fail, either die at the hands of their enemies, or by their own hand after capture. I will be merciful toward my opponents. I will take no prisoners."
—Kilgor [src]

The Festival of Life is a contest that is held every thirty years in Krewlod. The young people of the land get the chance to replace their clan leaders and compete for the throne of Krewlod. Kilgor became ruler of Krewlod after competing in the Festival, removing Winston Boragus from the throne.

The competitors must go through four trials. Kilgor had to slay an ancient behemoth named "Razor Claw", then clear an area of monsters. The third task was to fight the other claimants to the throne in a battle to the death. The survivor would earn the right to progress to the fourth trial: facing the ruler of Krewlod in combat. Kilgor managed to defeat Boragus, slaying the ogre and placing his head on a stake.

It was after observing a Festival of Life that Dracon's mother was inspired to take some red crystal and create the first crystal dragon.
