Ethric the Mad is a powerful sorcerer lich that appears in Might and Magic VI: The Mandate of Heaven and Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Shadow of Death. He was the teacher of Jeddite and Sandro, and supposedly the first lich on Enroth.

Gameplay[]
Might and Magic VI[]
In Might and Magic VI, Ethric is a lich that can be found in his tomb. He's a 40th-level lich with 280 hit points and an AC of 25. He does 5D8+20 points of ranged energy damage, and gives 2000 experience when slain.
He has a resistance of 20 against fire, electrical, cold, poison, and physical damage, a resistance of 10 against magic.
Gabriel Cartman offers the party the optional quest of entering his tomb, slaying him, and bringing his skull back to Gabriel in Freehaven.
Heroes III[]
Ethric is a sixth-level Warlock, and starts with expert Wisdom, Eagle Eye, Scholar, Tactics, Learning, Offense, Intelligence, and Sorcery.

For some time, fans debated whether Ethric of Bracada and Ethric the Mad were the same person or not. This was settled by Jennifer Bullard, a member of the Might and Magic team, who stated that, yes, they were.[1]
