The Demon Lord is the hero class of the Inferno faction in Heroes of Might and Magic V. Their faction skill is Gating. With the exception of creature specialists and campaign heroes, Demon Lords start with 16-23 imps, 9-11 horned demons and 0-3 hell hounds.

- The Demon Lord class gains bonus from "Will of Urgash" artifact set: summon creatures through Gating have 25% more reinforcements.
- Demon Lords have exclusive abilities:
- gate master: from Leadership skill, which gives an ability to summon gated stacks with 20% more reinforcements.
- hellwrath: from Defense skill, which triggers hellfire ability on retaliations.
- searing fires: from Destructive Magic skill, which increases damage from Hellfire ability by 50%.
- soulfire: from Sorcery skill, which damages all units around a dead stack targeted by Demon Lord's consume corpse ability.
- swarming gate: from Luck skill, which gives an ability to summon gated stacks with twice the reinforcements than usual.
- swift gating: from Logistics skill, which makes the unit that has activated Gating ability to spend 25% of its turn instead of 50%.
- Guarg is a campaign hero that is included in the original game, but does not appear in any of the scenarios.
