"My name is Dorrell, ambassador from AvLee. I bring a message from Queen Catherine. After the liberation of Steadwick, a Kreegan envoy appeared before the royal court. He claims they have captive, King Roland Ironfist of Enroth. They are asking for one million gold ransom. We cannot validate this claim. True or not, Queen Catherine is unwilling to pay. After interrogating the envoy, we learned Roland is held deep inside Eeofol by Clan Kreelah. Locate Clan Kreelah's base of operations and rescue Roland. In addition to your Erathian army, we will support you from AvLee. This mission is of utmost seriousness. You may rescue Roland, or find yourself the victim of a trap."

Deal with the Devil is a scenario of the campaign Liberation in Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Restoration of Erathia.
Walkthrough[]
To win, you must capture the city of Kleesive. Some Border Guards can only be passed if a Hero carries a Quest Artifact from a previous scenario, but the artifact beyond the Border Guard will travel with you to the next scenario.OffBck
A kreegan envoy appeared in the court, claiming Roland Ironfirst was captured. After the interrogations, it has been found Roland is in city of Kleesive, held by clan Kreelah. With the elves of AvLee, the task is to capture Kleesive and rescue Roland.
The enemy has five Inferno towns, though two of them cannot have most of their buildings built. Among these towns are a trio of connected Seer's huts: the first requires the Sword of Hellfire in exchange for the Shield of the Damned, which can in turn be given to the second for the Tome of Fire Magic, which can finally be given to the third for the Lion's Shield of Courage.
There are also two quest guards in the west, one requiring a Badge of Courage (carried over from "Steadwick's Liberation") and the other a Pendant of Life (carried over if "Neutral Affairs" was played first), each unlocking an artifact that may be carried over to the next scenario.
Once the clan leader has been defeated and Roland rescued, the heroes can continue liberating Erathia.
Towns[]
Strategy[]
Despite the towns being separated, the Castle town (with additional one near it that needs to be captured) can "synergise"; once some forces have been recruited, the heroes can attack the Inferno towns at the same time, causing a mess for the opponent. Beware the opponent has three towns, for they can recruit many troops to make a counterattack. A wise idea would be to merge forces and attack it, then proceed with rescuing Roland.
Bugs[]
The northeastern seer's hut can be accessed from the "outside", meaning the location that the hero can normally interact is pushed towards a square to the right.
