The crypt is a creature bank in Heroes III and Heroes V.
Heroes III[]
In Heroes III, the crypt is a creature bank where the hero can battle various Necropolis creatures and be rewarded with gold and artifacts. If the hero revisits the crypt, they get a penalty to morale.
Heroes V[]
The crypt is also a creature bank, where the hero can battle skeletons, zombies, ghosts, vampires, and liches. If victorious, they are rewarded with gold, and sometimes a minor artifact.
