Charnath is a Death Knight that appears in the Grave Robber scenario in the Hack and Slash campaign in Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Shadow of Death. Crag Hack must defeat her to retrieve the Shield of the Yawning Dead for Sandro.
Biography[]
Charnath was a member of a necromantic cult known as the "Hand of Death". Sandro told Crag Hack that the cult recently took the Shield of the Yawning Dead from a vampire slayer they killed, but the cult told Crag Hack that the item had been in their graveyard for many years.
Crag Hack soon found the cemetery where the shield was located, but a skeletal figure in a black robe blocked his path. He learned that Charnath had tried to desecrate the cemetery once, and no one would be allowed to enter before she'd paid for her crimes. Crag Hack sought out Charnath, defeating her in combat before claiming the shield.
Gameplay[]
Charnath is a 20th-level Death Knight. She starts with Necromancy and Tactics, while the rest of her skills are randomly assigned.

She has an army of 330 walking dead, 250 zombies, 110 wraiths, 80 vampire lords, and 30 ghost dragons, and is equipped with the Breastplate of Petrified Wood and the Greater Gnoll's Flail.

- Charnath has the same icon and specialty as Charna.
- The skeletal figure that Crag Hack encounters refers to Charnath as male, saying that "he hides now" and "his sins and yours are absolved". Despite this, Charnath has a female icon and in-game unit.
