Cerberus Gate is the first scenario in Conquest of the Underworld.
Tarnum must reach the Underworld Gate and defeat the Devils below to secure passage into the Underworld. You must not lose Tarnum. All Heroes will be limited to level six, but Tarnum and two of his Captains will transfer to the next scenario with all their skills, spells and experience.OffBck
The Ancestors send Tarnum to Erathia so that he can help queen Allison Gryphonheart free her father Rion's soul from the Underworld, where it was taken after being stolen from Paradise. As Rion was the man who slew him, Tarnum has little love for the man, and hates being forced to save his soul.
Queen Allison writes often to Tarnum, but his replies are late and short, as he is not fond of writing. She hopes to join him on the battlefield later, and he chuckles at this, as she is not much of a warrior.
The other knights talk about the savagery of barbarians, and how the brutes will attack even defenseless villages. Tarnum, disguised as a knight, tries unsuccessfully to convince himself that the soldier was wrong.
Walkthrough[]
Tarnum starts out with a Castle and the cleric Cuthbert. The two enemy players have one Inferno each. None of the towns can field creatures above fourth tier, and the closest Inferno is limited to third-tier.
The quest guard to the east will open when a hero gives them 11 royal griffins, granting access to the red keymaster tent. The tent will allow Tarnum to go through the red border gate protecting the purple player's lands, where he'll find a Tomb of Souls. Buying seven wights will allow him to pass through the quest guard in the southeastern corner, opening the path to the purple keymaster tent.
In the northwestern corner, Tarnum can pass through the purple border guard and fight his way through the neutral garrison, defeating the archdevils underground to win the scenario.

Strategy[]
The two enemy players start out with few creatures and should be taken out of the game as early as possible.
The seer's hut southeast of the purple player's Inferno will give Tarnum a Four Leaf Clover, which will open the quest guard west of the town. This provides a shortcut between the two Infernos.
Once Tarnum reaches sixth level, he can open the path to the Forsaken Palace east of the purple Inferno, which allows him to hire devils. He can also visit the seer's hut west of the Inferno to gain +6 knowledge.
