"I arrived home last night, under the cover of a heavy fog. My cousin met me on the beach. He explained that a civil war had broken out while I was away. To my dismay, the leader of the rebellion is my sister the Necromancer, with whom my family ties are very strong. Now I must decide: should I remain loyal to my Lord Alberon who has treated me honorably in my years of service, or acknowledge the more ancient bond of blood and fight for my sister's cause?"

Blood is Thicker is the fourth scenario of the Voyage Home campaign in Heroes of Might and Magic II: The Price of Loyalty. The player can choose whether to play this one, or King and Country.

Overthrow the entrenched monarchy of Lord Alberon, and claim all the land in your name. Gallavant must not die.OffBck

When he returns home, Gallavant discovers that his sister Drakonia has started a rebellion against Lord Alberon. His loyalty divided, he decides to side with his sister against his lord.

Walkthrough[]

Gallavant and Drakonia have a purple Necromancer castle in the northeastern corner, and two Barbarian castles, one in the southeastern corner, and one in the northwestern one. Lord Alberon has a blue Knight castle and three Knight towns in the southwestern corner. The red Sorceress has two castles and two towns in the center of the map. They also have two neutral sorceress towns in their territory as well. All enemy forces will need to be defeated to complete the map.

There are three neutral Necromancer towns near Gallavant and Drakonia's starting point, and one neutral Barbarian castle near the northwestern Barbarian castle in the northwest. For the Barbarian castle, hire a Barbarian hero in the adjacent castle, build up a small force, and defeat the enemies guarding the castle. For the necromancer towns, use Drakonia's army to defeat the bone dragons protecting the southern town. The town contains a Level 3 mage guild and a laboratory. Once that town is captured, have Drakonia capture the town in the west. The town contains a Level 2 mage guild and an upg. mansion. Neither of the towns can be upgraded to a castle, however. Ignore the last necromancer town in the far west; the player can upgrade the town to a castle, but they should save their resources and focus on building garrisons and troops in their starting castle instead.

Once the player has built enough forces, they should send Drakonia and the Barbarian hero to the Sorceress faction in the middle of the map. Eliminate them, then take out Lord Alberon and the Knight heroes.

"The Castle of my former Lord Alberon lies burning in the distance, and even though my sister and I have triumphed in our cause, I will never forget the betrayed look in my liege's eyes when he saw me riding against him."
