The blood fury is the upgraded second-level creature of the Dungeon in Heroes of Might and Magic V, an upgraded version of the blood maiden.

Blood Furies are the elite warriors of the Dark Elf armies. So well trained are they in their own form of Battle Dance that they can charge and evade in the same strike, preventing their foes from reacting and retaliating before they are gone.OffBck

Like the blood maiden, it has the Strike and Return ability, but also No retaliation - coupled with its high speed and very high initiative, these abilities allows it to move across the battlefield, attack, and run back before the enemy has a chance to retaliate, and then repeat the process very frequently. A group of blood furies can cause a lot of damage without taking any themselves.

Their main disadvantage, just like with blood maidens, is their low defense and hit points, making them very fragile. This is compounded by their low growth rate per week (unless the player makes use of the Ritual Pit), so any losses taken will be significant early on.

As with the blood maiden, holding down CTRL while selecting a target to attack will make blood furies stay next to the enemy after attacking. This is useful to block ranged creatures and prevent them from shooting, but needs to be used carefully due to the blood fury's fragility.
