Black dragon's icon

The black dragon is the upgrade to the red dragon, the seventh-tier creature of the Dungeon faction in Heroes of Might and Magic III. It can be recruited from the upgraded dragon cave.

Red and black dragons with their great mobility, flying ability, and powerful breath weapons are among the most effective units in the game. Red dragons are immune to spells below level four. Black dragons are twice as durable, do 150% damage to giants and titans, and are immune to all spells.^OffBck

With much higher attack, defense, speed and hit points than the red dragon, the black dragon is easily the strongest creature in the Dungeon army. It's completely immune to spells, beneficial as well as hostile, which can sometimes be a problem.

The black dragon is one of the strongest creatures in the game, and a serious threat to any creature.

Notes

• Mutare and Mutare Drake are specialists in black dragons, and give them +5 to Attack and Defense.
• Vial of Dragon Blood gives +5 to Attack and Defense to black dragons.
