- This article is about the creature from Heroes of Might and Magic III. For other uses, see behemoth.
The behemoth is the seventh-level creature of the Stronghold faction in Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Restoration of Erathia. It can be recruited from the behemoth lair. The behemoth can be upgraded to the ancient behemoth.
The attack of these giant creatures is so overwhelming it reduces their target’s ability to mount further defenses. The attack of the behemoth reduces target defense value by 40%.OffBck
That smile scares the hell out of whoever behemoth is attacking, reducing their ability to defend themselves. A slow walker, the behemoth is also a cheap level 7 unit, definitely attack-oriented and able to deal huge damage by reducing enemy defense during the attack.
Try to use charge tactics whenever possible, and do not leave behemoth exposed to enemy attacks, as it's too easy to lose them. The target is able to use only 60% of its defense when attacked by behemoth.
One popular strategy involving behemoths is to rush the construction of a behemoth lair as quickly as possible, preferably by day 7, in order to add two behemoths to the player's army at the start of week 2. This will make clearing many early creature camps significantly easier.
