No army can do without cavalry, whose object is to quickly reach and engage the enemy units. The Dwarves have tamed fierce bears for this, whose toughness and endurance compensate for their relatively lower speed.^OffBck

The bear rider is the third-tier unit of the Fortress faction in the Hammers of Fate expansion to Heroes of Might and Magic V. It upgrades into the blackbear rider, though in the Tribes of the East expansion it may also upgrade into the whitebear rider.
