"Excellent work, my good general. I think we made an impression, don't you? The lords nearest us will certainly profess loyalty, although the more distant ones still waver. I think, however, we will require a second demonstration. In the frozen wastes to the north of us, the Krashaw region, are a number of barbarian tribes that my father did not bother to conquer. These barbarians can be powerful if organized, but fortunately they've never managed it. I am sending you there to conquer and unify them. They will make excellent foot soldiers in our efforts to put down my brother's rebellion."
—Archibald

Barbarian Wars is the second scenario of Archibald's campaign in Heroes of Might and Magic II: The Succession Wars.

You must unify the barbarian tribes of the north by conquering them. As in the previous mission, the enemy is not allied against you, but they have more resources at their disposal. You will win when you own all of the enemy castles and there are no more heroes left to fight.OffBck

Realizing that he needed more soldiers for his war against Roland, Archibald sent his commander north to capture the barbarian tribes and bring them under his rule. Having added the barbarian armies to his own, Archibald's rule was far more secure.

Walkthrough[]

The commander has a red castle and hero, the faction depending on the player's choice. The castle has two stacks of 15 nomads. There are three opponents: a purple barbarian to the southwest, a yellow one to the northwest, and an orange barbarian to the northeast, and they have a single castle and hero each.

Give the nomads to the starting hero and send the hero to the southwest or the northeast to eliminate one barbarian player. Hire a second hero and have him go to the east, where he will find genie lamps. Use the genies and the troops from the castle, and send that hero to the northeast or the southwest, whichever direction the starting hero did not go to. Once the player has eliminated two of the barbarian players, send both of the heroes to the northeast where the last barbarian player is located. Defeat all heroes and capture the enemy player's castle to win the scenario.
