The artifact merchants is a type of building in Heroes of Might and Magic series.
The artifact merchants sells and buys artifacts. The stock replenishes each month. It is available only to a select few factions, and needs the marketplace to be built first. In addition, for each marketplace in the kingdom, the prices of the artifacts are discounted.
The artifact merchants in Heroes III provides the hero artifacts for purchase. It is available to Dungeon, Tower and Conflux factions, and costs 10,000 gold.
The adventure map object black market has the same function, but the artifacts do not replenish, nor is there any discount.
There is no artifact merchants in Heroes IV. The player can construct the blacksmith to purchase low-level artifacts, but cannot sell them.
The artifact merchants retains the same function in Heroes V as it did in the previous installment. It can be built in Academy town, where it is named as artifact merchant, costing 5 wood and 5000 gold.
In Dungeon town, the trade guild, which trades artifacts and gives out random resources per week, can be built for 5 wood, 5 ore and 1000 gold. It requires marketplace to be built first, and the town level to be at level 6.
The artifact merchants retains the same function in Heroes VI as it did in the previous installment. However, it is renamed to advanced marketplace, and requires 2500 gold, 2 wood, 2 ore and 2 crystals for construction. It is available to Haven, Sanctuary, Stronghold and Dungeon factions.
The artifacts merchant retains the same function in Heroes VII as it did in the previous installment. However, it is available only to the Dungeon faction, is named as black market, costs 500 gold and requires the town to be at level 3.
