"Armor skill covers all kinds of armor. All characters may wear some type of armor."

Armor is a skill in Might and Magic IX that increases the effectiveness of armor. It is one of the two starting skills for the Fighter class, the other being Blade. Initiates and Scholars can learn normal armor, Healers, Magi, Liches, Fighters, Mercenaries, and Crusaders can learn expert armor, Priests, Druids, Assassins, Rangers, and Gladiators can learn master armor, and Paladins can learn grandmaster armor.

Effect[]

  • Normal: +1 Armor Class per skill point.
  • Expert: Recovery penalty for armor is halved and some classes may wear Chain or Leather armor.
  • Master: +2 Armor Class per skill point, and some classes may wear Plate armor.
  • Grandmaster: +3 Armor Class per skill point, and the recovery penalty for armor is eliminated.
