"Having spent his life in the pursuit of knowledge and power, Mysterio the Magnificent seeks the one thing that has yet managed to elude him: immortality. He has recently learned that the kingdom of Channon holds the key to this mystery, but they keep it hidden and have refused him access to it. Diplomacy has failed to produce any results, leaving Mysterio the Magnificent no choice but to forcefully obtain his prize."
All Clues Lead to Channon is the first scenario in The Magnificent One campaign in Winds of War.
Information[]
"Mysterio the Magnificent's long search for the secret of immortality has led him to a remote region of the kingdom of Channon that lies just across the border of his own kingdom of Qassar. He is certain that one of the towns in this area is hiding the information he needs."
Realizing that the immortality he seeks lies just across the border to Channon, Mysterio the Magnificent readies his armies and invades. As he battles Channon's defenders, he locates the man that can tell him where to look for his prize.
After Lord Erin attempts to kill Mysterio, the mage forces him reveal the location of the secret of immortality.
Strategy[]
Mysterio's homeland of Qassar has three Academy towns, only one of which is in his possession. He should take control of the other two as quickly as possible, building up his armies before entering Channon.
There are six ways to cross the border: four bridge crossings and two two-way Portals. Both portals are protected by Angels and Catapults, so the bridges are the best choice. Note that the garrisons won't hinder Channon's forces.
The goal of Mysterio's quest is to enter the mansion of Lord Erin on the center of the western edge of the map, slightly south of the town, but the place is inaccessible until all enemy towns have been invaded.
Near the center of the map, there's a farm that will give Mysterio a War Sling and a Horseshoe in exchange for ninety Peasants. He will carry both artifacts to the next scenario.
