The Alchemist's Tower is an adventure map structure in Heroes of Might and Magic II: The Price of Loyalty. It allows any hero that visits it to get rid of their cursed artifacts, for a price.
Cursed artifacts in Heroes I and Heroes II are artifacts that give a negative bonus to their owners. The only cursed artifact in Heroes I is the Fizbin of Misfortune, which reduces hero morale and cannot be traded. Heroes II also has the Hideous Mask, which prevents wandering creatures from joining the hero, and the Tax Lien, which costs the player 250 gold per turn.
The Alchemist's Tower will also offer to destroy the 'Heart of Ice' and 'Heart of Fire' artifacts, as they are considered to be 'cursed'.
In Heroes II, however, cursed artifacts can be traded away to other heroes, but they can still cause problems, so paying an alchemist to destroy them can be a good way of getting rid of them.
