Ossir and Alaron

A Tear for Ossir is a scenario in Heroes of Might and Magic V.

Walkthrough[]

High King Alaron has taked Ossir to get the Tear of Asha. The trip will be a long one, as the dark elves may present a problem. Ossir needs to watch for signs, as they may hint the location. The first one is east of Meneflor, saying "In memory of Thirdan, a poor fisherman whose luck changed one day." Sylrael and Ossir think they ought to check the nearby lake for signs.

The next one is in the center, near the road to the north. It says "Wealth? You can't take it with you when you're dead!" Syrlael thinks of the caves underneath, so Ossir orders to go in for more signs. On their way, the city of Erewel lies, which Ossir should capture it. The 3rd sign is near the entrance, and says "Where you become wiser." Sylrael makes fun of Ossir, but Ossir tells him that there are such places.

Ossir will likely encounter the Dark Elves. To easen the task, he should capture all 4 towns. They are on each corner of the map, and only the one in north-east is better guarded. Ossir ought to get initiative and capture all towns before he is taken out.

In the east, there is another exit, and when he comes out, another Sylvan town resides. However, there are also a lot of signs, and, unlike the previous ones, do not give XP bonus. So, Ossir needs time to dig out the Tear of Asha. It might reside under any sign (even the previous signs), so when the Tear of Asha is uncovered, Ossir and Sylrael have only to return it to Alaron.

Strategy[]

Ossir will have to first concentrate on defeating the dark elves first. He ought to capture Erewel and develop it, then defeat the dark elves. Afterwards, he only needs to check for the Tear of Asha, which only needs time, given plenty if the dark elves are defeated.
